In 2024, VOHH was contracted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to provide Transitional Support Services to bridge the gap between Contracted Emergency Housing and long-term stability in social housing predominately through Kainga Ora. This 12-week programme provides whānau with tailored transition plans, practical assistance, and one-on-one support to help them settle confidently into their new homes.
Our kaimahi walk alongside whānau to source household essentials, connect with schools, health and social services, and navigate income support or budgeting needs. We also provide coaching around tenancy responsibilities, landlord relationships, and community integration.
At its heart, the service is about more than housing — it’s about empowering whānau with the tools, confidence, and support to thrive, ensuring long-term stability and Whānau Mana Motuhake.
